Set of six Boston coin silver forks, five bearing the touch Harris, Stanwood & Co. and one Lincoln & Reed, each stamped Z. B. Porter on handles, 10.05 ozt. Zachariah B. Porter (1797-1864) was the father of Civil War General Josiah Porter. A statue of General Josiah Porter can be found in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, New York. He is reputed to be the first Harvard student to enlist in the civil war.
