Rare and excellent presentation cased Maynard patent, First model 1857 Saddle Ring Sporting single shot rifle/shotgun, retains both a .50 caliber rifled barrel and a .55 caliber smoothbore barrel with brass front sight, the presentation case contains both .50 caliber and .55 caliber brass casings for reloading, a cartridge loader, bullet seating die, chamber adapters, marked bullet mold, Maynard tape primers and original shot and rifle cartridges, case colored receiver is marked MAYNARD ARMS CO-WASHINGTON on the right side of the receiver and MANUFACTURED BY-MASS ARMS CO-CHICOPEE FALLS, a tang sight, Maynard tape primer and a finely fitted patch box integral to the steel butt plate, walnut case is velvet lined with each compartment retaining the appropriate accessories, 26'' barrels, barrels are numbered #4940, no serial number.
Overall very fine condition, barrels and hammer show 98% of original blue with the .50 caliber rifled barrel being bright and exhibiting good rifling, the .55 caliber smoothbore barrel has a mirror bore, the receiver and tangs show strong case colors
