Springfield model 1842 smoothbore percussion musket, .69 caliber, the lock stamped Spring Field 1846, with eagle over US, the barrel with VP over eagle head, the tang dated 1846, the butt plate tang stamped US, with a walnut stock and sling swivels, 42'' barrel.
Excellent, unissued condition without inspector cartouches, all metal bright and oiled stock without imperfections.
