Pennsylvania salmon, navy blue, and white jacquard coverlet, mid 19th c., the corner blocks with profiles of the railroad founder T. McKennan and inscribed "Hemfield Railroad", the railroad engine and coal car border surrounding an interior of snowflake medallions, 84" x 77". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 186 and 187.
Fringe and edge loss. 2 repaired tears, approx. 5" each. Considerable losses to top edge. Losses to white areas. A couple smaller repairs.
