Pennsylvania red, navy blue, green, and white jacquard coverlet by J. Shafer, the corner blocks inscribed "Catharine Greser 1846 J. Shafer Martinsburg Blair Co. PA", the border with vine and sunburst decoration, the center with rose, leaf, and geometric decoration, 88" x 77". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 120 and 121.
Overall very good condition. Some loss to top edge. Fringe loss. Areas of staining. A few small losses to stitching and some minor losses at center seam.
