New York blue and white jacquard coverlet, the corner blocks inscribed "American. Independence. Declared. July.4.1776 Wove In 1839 EFH", the border decorated with eagles double-headed eagles, monkeys, people, buildings, and compasses atop masonic spires, the interior with floral medallions, 87" x 78". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 64 and 65.
Overall good. Wear to top edge/not major. A few small stains. Some small holes and loss to blue particularly in one corner.
