Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, ca. 1800, inscribed
George Oves, Lebanon, the broken arch bonnet with flame finials, carved rosettes, and intermittent diamond dentils, centering a carved pediment above an eight day works with painted face and moon phase, above a shell carved door flanked by fluted quarter columns, over a base with applied carved panel supported by ogee bracket feet, retaining a fine old surface, 103" h. Provenance: Boyertown Antiques.
Condition
Parts: pendulum, two weights, key, winder. Finials replaced. Lacking back finial and plynths. Feet restored. Face looks totally original and is in excellent condition. Works are original to case. Good older surface with nice patination. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.
