New York navy blue and white jacquard coverlet by James Cunningham, the corner blocks inscribed "1841 United We Stand Divided We Fall Washington J. Cunningham Weaver. N. Hartford. Oneida. Co.N.York", depicting Washington on horseback with sword drawn, the bottom and top border inscribed "Under This We Prosper", the top edge inscribed "Esther Cutler", the border with eagles, flowers, and stars, the interior with floral medallions and birds, 84" x 74". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 80 and 81.
Overall very good with a few small losses to blue mostly in one area.
