Maryland red, light blue, navy blue, and white jacquard coverlet by the workshop of John B. Welty, the corner blocks inscribed "John. B. Welty. Boonsboro Washington. County. Maryland. 1845", the border with birds and rose bushes, the interior with lilies, leaves and sunbursts, 94" x 84". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 114 and 115.
Overall good/very good condition. Unusual colors. Small losses to stitching throughout in blue and light blue, more on top edge than anywhere else.
