Letter from Nathaniel B. Boileau, written to Thomas Bradford, Jr., dated November 25, 1817. Boileau, who ran for Governor in the year of this letter, states that he feels P. L. Markley and Co. are determined to ruin his reputation, compelling him to employ the Lex Laboris (labor law). If I mistake not you told me on the steps of the courthouse in Philadelphia about the first of October last that you could furnish me with some facts illustrative to his character, particularly about his money transactions. The Bradfords were a prominent multigenerational Philadelphia family, involved in printing, business, education, and public and military service. 9 3/4" x 7 1/2" as folded.

Competitive in-house shipping is available for this lot.
