James Woodward & Sons side lever, side hammer Rook rifle with ejectors, .300 cal., barrel inscribed James Woodward & Sons, 64 St. James St., London, SW, with a two-leaf platinum-lined rear express sight, a nicely scroll engraved receiver, a checkered walnut pistol grip stock and a case colored cap, serial #6176, 26" round barrel. The barrel retains approximately 70% of blue and has a deeply rifled bore. Both front and rear sight bases are contiguous to the barrel. The scroll engraved receiver retains 80% of case colors and some flame blue remains on the ejector and lever springs. The checkered fore end has a horn cap while the checkered pistol grip has a case colored cap. Except for a small area at the junction of the butt stock to receiver when the checkering is chipped the stock is very good. Condition is fine.
