William Taft signed typed letter, on White House stationary, Beverly, Massachusetts, dated August, 29, 1910, written to Mr. Johnson (R. U. Johnson, Esq.), The Century Magazine, New York City, inscribed I have yours of August 24th. In my letter to Mr. McKinley, the Chairman of the Congressional Committee, I say something in respect to the Appalachian Reserve. I don't know whether it will go in, because it was sent late, but the Appalachian Reserve Bill is doubtless going through the Senate, 8 3/4" x 7". The Weeks Act was signed into law March 1st, 1911 by William Taft. Provenance: The Ephemera Collection of Joseph Rubinfine, Merritt Island, Florida.

Condition

Very light edge toning, overall very good condition.
