Westley Richards percussion breech loading sporting rifle, the barrel marked Whitworth Patent and .483 on the right side and .450 on the left side of the breech, with a Monte Carlo stock, a four-leaf platinum-lined express sight, a lock marked Westley Richards, a sliding safety and a nicely checkered deluxe pistol grip stock with sling swivels at the butt and barrel band, serial #2243, 25" round barrel. "Whitworth Patent" marked barrel retains approximately 80% blue and is marked .450 at left breech and .483 at right breech. Lock is marked "Westley Richards & Co." and 1863 in a triangle behind the hammer. The top of the monkey tail latch is marked "Westley Richards Patent". Bore shows strong rifling. Except for some 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" mars on the left butt stock, the wood is fine metal butt trade contains cleaning rod. Overall fine condition.
