Western Pennsylvania full stock flintlock long rifle, approximately .50 caliber, illegibly initialed on barrel flat, the lock inscribed Calderwood, with tiger maple stock, double set triggers, an elaborate, engraved four-piece brass patchbox, with seven piercings and silver inlays, to include an oval with an etched American eagle above the cheek rest, 40 1/2'' octagonal barrel.
Condition
There is a crude repair to the stock above the second thimble & another to the toe of the buttstock where a 1.75" by 1" piece has been fitted. A 5" flat piece of brass with a cut in it has been added to the bottom of the buttstock forward of the buttplate. There is a crack on the left side behind the second thimble from the barrel to the ramrod channel & a small chip below the side plate. The set triggers do not function.
