Very fine silk on silk needlework sampler wrought by Janet Crimton, 1793, executed in bright shades of red, green, blue, and tan with bands of stylized flowers over a house, with gentleman in the doorway flanked by gardens, with birds perched in trees, Adam and Eve, dogs, cats, peacock, strawberries, etc., all within a tulip border - a very elaborate, finely done example, 15 1/2" x 12 3/4".
