English silk on silk needlework picture, late 17th/early 18th c., depicting a country scene with shepherdess, shepherd, and flock in a field with farm and windmill in the background, worked in shades of red, green, yellow, and brown silk thread, 11 1/2" x 14 1/2". This piece is a predecessor to the Fishing Lady needlework of America.
