US Springfield model 1873 trapdoor rifle, .45-70 caliber, with buckhorn rear sight, inspector proof dated 1879 on left wrist, walnut stock, the lock inscribed US Springfield, with eagle, corrugated hammer, 32 5/8" barrel. SN #118846 Provenance: The Firearms & Militaria Collection of Robert Spangler Jr., West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Good overall condition, retaining 50% original blue, stocks show normal handling marks with a strong cartouche and FB carved into the stock below the breech on the left side, with period leather sling. Missing hammer screw.
