US Colt model 1861 Special musket, .58 caliber, the lock with three line address dated 1863, walnut stock, faint cartouche to left wrist, sling swivels, and two leaf rear sight, 40" barrel. Provenance: The Firearms & Militaria Collection of Robert Spangler Jr., West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Good overall condition with all metal bright, a 1 1/2" "X" carved into the right buttstock, the stocks show normal handling marks, original ramrod.
