Unusual gunsmith made Chas. Roth (Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania) breech loading rifle, .32 RF caliber, the 1840 lock marked D. Nippes U. S.-Mill Creek PA., 1847, with serpentine hammer, side mounted manual extractor, latch is a monkey tail design, walnut stock, brass trigger guard, crescent butt plate, and pewter nose cap, 29 1/2'' octagonal barrel.
Fair bore with strong rifling.
