Springfield model 1842 percussion musket, .69 caliber, with walnut stock, having a faint cartouche, the barrel with eagle head VP proof, the barrel tang dated 1845, the lock inscribed Springfield 1845, with US eagle, 42" barrel.
Overall very good condition, handling marks to stock, some pitting to barrel at tang, metal turning brown.
