Scarce Confederate Richmond Sharp's saddle ring carbine, .58 caliber, the barrel inscribed Richmond VA. behind "V" notched rear sight, tapered blade front sight, walnut stock with sling swivel, brass butt plate and single barrel band, receiver tang and lock plate, both inscribed with serial number, 21" barrel. SN #3317 Approximately 5,000 firearms called "Richmond Carbines" were made for the Confederate government between 1862 and 1864.

Condition

Overall good condition, poor bore with strong rifling, second screw hole drilled in forend, 2" x 1/4" loss to forend on right side, missing barrel band spring, takedown lever broken, handling marks to stock, some mars to metal mainly to lever and falling block.
