Reading, Pennsylvania redware wall pocket, 19thc., impressed "D.P. Shenfelder, Reading, PA", with mask decoration and yellow glaze with green and brown splash, 10 3/4" h., 8 3/4" w. This is a rare use of redware by this potter and probably his finest work extant.
Sporadic minor glaze flakes throughout.
