Rare New Brunswick, New Jersey, Chippendale walnut linen press, ca. 1790, bearing the label of Matthew Egerton Junior, the dentil molded cornice above a crotch veneer frieze and scalloped panel doors flanked by fluted chamfered corners, resting on a lower section with three drawers and gadrooned apron supported by bracket feet, retaining its original brass hardware, 78" h., 43 1/2" w.

Two similar cupboards were exhibited at The Newark Museum, Newark, New Jersey October 10, 1958 through January 11, 1959 and featured in the book published for the exhibition, Early Furniture Made in New Jersey 1690-1870., catalogue item numbers 33 and 79.
