Rare Lenox Toby jug of Theodore Roosevelt depicted as African explorer, ca. 1908, holding a book inscribed "Africa", with elephant trunk handle, marked "Lenox, patent applied for, Design of Edward Penfield, the Toby Potteries, New York, 7 5/8" h. Issued at the end of Roosevelt's final term in office as he was about to set forth on his famous expedition to Africa.
Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
