Leatherbound volume titled "Welcome Home", a program for a dinner in honor of Theodore Roosevelt on June 22, 1910 at Sherry's, New York to commemorate the return from his famous trip to Africa and Europe, 10 3/4" x 8 3/4". This dinner was attended by 85 of the most prominent men of the time and each diner received a personalized leatherbound volume embossed with his name, this example belonging to Commander Peary. Included with Commander Peary's volume is a postcard: "President Roosevelt Bidding Peary God Speed" on his expedition to the Pole in 1908. Roosevelt received news of Peary's achievement while in Kenya and wrote about it.
