Rare early Boston silk on linen band sampler, inscribed "Mercy Holland is my name, English is my Nation, Boston is my Dwelling Place, Worked in the 11 Year of Her Age October the 29 1737" with alternating bands of alphabets, verse, flowers, and geometric designs, 18" x 8 1/4". Provenance: Stephen and Carol Huber.
One tiny hole to body. Overall excellent condition. Minor light staining to lower right corner
