Phillip Markel (Skippack School, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, late 18th c.), selection from a 13-page manuscript, watercolor and ink on paper bookplate with script surrounded by flower, trees, and a bird in a scalloped border, 4" x 6 1/4". Markel was a student of the fraktur artist Henry Brachtheiser. Exhibition: Mennonite Historical Society, 2004-2005.
