Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Queen Anne maple side chair, ca. 1745, attributed to William Savery, with a cupids bow crest and vasiform splat, over a period rush seat with applied scalloped skirts supported by chamfered cabriole front legs joined by a bulbous medial stretcher, terminating in crooked feet. Two similar chairs bearing Savery labels are illustrated in Lindsey, Worldly Goods, fig. 149; and Sotheby's, January 16 and 17, 1999, lot 766. Provenance: David Stockwell, West Chester, Pennsylvania.
