Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, late 18th c., the broken arch bonnet enclosing an 8-day works with painted face, over a case with fluted quarter columns supported by bracket feet, 95 1/2" h.
Condition
Parts: winder. Fine dial with moonphase and gilt spandrels enclosing polychrome flowers and leafage. Sweep seconds, center calendar hand, hour and minute hands original. Movement complete and intact with signed "Osborn's Manufactory, Birmingham" cast iron fastening plate. Lacking finials. Plinths replaced. Rosettes are early replacements. Large shims supporting works may be original. Excellent proportions and fine bold feet. Movement with four hands off the arbor. We do not guarantee the working condition of clocks. Associated pendulums and weights available to the buyer.
