Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, ca. 1795, with a painted dial, inscribed Daniel Oyster, Reading, with moon phase mechanism within a broken arch bonnet, the waist with a fan carved door, fluted quarter columns, and arched lower panel supported by ogee bracket feet, retaining an excellent old surface, 97 1/2" h. Provenance: John Renshaw.

Condition

Parts: key, pendulum, two weights, and a winder. Finials are original. Rosettes original. Touch-up to moon phase. Painted face is in excellent condition. Massive feet are original and nicely carved. Works are original to clock. Great old, if not original, surface. Was working in consignors home but Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.
