Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, ca. 1787, inscribed
Philip Maus No. 2 Lebanon, the broken arch bonnet with flame finials and floral rosettes centering an incised shell pediment, above an eight day works with painted face over a double peaked door flanked by fluted quarter columns with spiral capitals, above a base with dramatically carved panel with gadrooned edge supported by ogee bracket feet, retaining a fine old finish, 100" h. Provenance: Philip H. Bradley Co.
Condition
Parts: key, winder, pendulum, information. Feet pieced 1/3 out, pieced finial plinths and center finial. Appear to be all original except for feet. Works have small shims but works do go with case. Old mellow finish. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition. Provenance: Philip Bradley.
