Pennsylvania carved and painted rooster, ca. 1900, signed W. Kinstler, retaining its original polychrome surface, 23 1/2'' h. Provenance: Pook & Pook, Inc., William Koch Collection, June 5, 1999. According to Ruth's husband, Jack Bryson, Ruth was determined to own this rooster because it reminded her of a favorite childhood pet.
Good condition with minor wear. Heavier flaking around seams.
