Northwestern European tall brass candlestick, 15th c., with a round socket and square apertures, above a cylindrical shaft with five discoid knobs, above a conical shaped base with an upper drip pan and full stepped base, 10 3/4'' h. This boldly turned and crisp example is very similar to lots 12 and 14, but taller, sold at the Lear sale, Christie's, 1998. Provenance: William H. Straus.
