Northampton County, Pennsylvania painted dower chest, ca. 1800, the front with a central cartouche inscribed "Magthalena Knaussin", surrounded by trailing vines and tulips, all flanked by 2 arched panels with potted floral trees, the ends with similar panels, all over a mid molding and 2 drawers with stippled green surface, resting on straight bracket feet, 28" h., 48" w., 23" d.
