Newport, Rhode Island Chippendale mahogany tall post bed, ca. 1780, the arched headboard flanked by square posts with chamfered corners, the foot posts with reeded tops over acanthus leaves and a rope twist balusters terminating in marlborough feet, 95" h., 54" w., 78" d. Provenace: James Sorber, together with blue floral resist bed hangings, skirt and 3 valances. Provenance: Jan Whitlock.
Post extended 8", new tester. Mattress and pillows not included with lot.
