New York red and white jacquard coverlet by Ira Hadsell, inscribed in the corners "1869" and along the bottom edge "Woven. at. Palmyra. N.Y. by Ira Hadsell", the corner with eagles under banners declaring "E Pluribus Unum", the edges decorated with cornucopias, potted flowers, and foliage, the interior central medallion with American flags, foliage, and the slogan "Liberty" encircling female figures, 82" x 80". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 212 and 213.
Overall good/very good condition. Small repairs to body. Somewhat faded. Minor edge losses.
