Massachusetts Bay Colony appointment of Samuel Bancroft, dated 16th July, 1776, at Watertown, County of Middlesex, bearing fifteen signatures, to include Dan Davis, Benjamin Austin, Wm. Phillips, General (Henry Watson) Powell, Caleb Cushing, W. Spooner, John Whitcomb, S. Holton, D. Sewall, B. White, etc., just two weeks after the United States proclaims its independence from Britain. Provenance: The Ephemera Collection of Joseph Rubinfine, Merritt Island, Florida.
