Manheim, Pennsylvania cast iron ''The Hero'' stove plate dated 1769, inscribed H W Stiegel, Elizabeth Furnace, with Masonic symbols and a wreath encircling a bust of a gentleman, possibly a depiction of Barron Henry Stiegel himself, 23 1/4'' x 27''. A similar example is pictured in Mercer: The Bible in Iron, plate 245. Provenance: Sylvan Brandt, Lititz, Pennsylvania.
