Liverpool pitcher of nautical interest, early 19th c., bearing the monogram of Captain George A. Robinson, one side depicting the "Apotheosis" of George Washington, the reverse inscribed "Peace Plenty and Independence" beneath a spread winged eagle, 10" h. Provenance: Estate of Oliver Ireton Shoemaker.
Discoloration. Two chips to base underside and firing line to base. Some minor roughness and glaze loss to top rim. Overall craquelure. Some scratches to glaze.
