Lancaster, Pennsylvania walnut schrank, ca. 1770, the arched raised panel doors flanked by fluted quarter columns resting on a base with five drawers supported by bracket feet, 82 1/2" h., 56 1/2" w. Provenance: Collection of J. Stogdell Stokes. Property sold with the approval of the trustees of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to benefit acquisition funds.
Losses to drawer lips, brasses replaced, one capital detached from left quarter column of top and missing top capital of quarter column of base, 6" loss to bottom molding at base of door, drawer patches, hinges replaced.
