Karl Munch (Southeastern Pennsylvania, active 1799-1831), exceptional watercolor and ink on paper presentation drawing for Elisabeta Huston in Schaefferstown, Heidelberg Township, Dauphin County, with typical elaborate floral baskets, love birds, angels, wreaths, and floral swags surrounding a detailed interior scene of three women, one in the kitchen, one at a spinning wheel, and one next to a cast iron stove, and a child in a rocking chair, signed lower center Karl Munch 1799, 12 3/4" x 15 1/2". Pictured in Wendy Cooper and Lisa Minardi, Paint, Pattern and People, pg. 62. Exhibition: Winterthur, 2011. Provenance: Pook & Pook, Inc., June 1998, lot 225 from the Earnest family.
Period frame. Small patches to top right corner, bottom right corner and small strip to lower right edge. Center creases with separation.
