John Rigby & Co. side by side under lever double-hammer Express rifle, .577/.500 cal., London and black powder proof barrels without ejectors, rib inscribed Jno. Rigby & Co., 72 St. James St., London & Dublin, one leaf 200 yard express sight, a deeply scroll engraved back action lock, a checkered English walnut pistol grip stock with no cheek rest and a 1 1/4" brass circle in the right butt stock, serial #16219, 26" barrels. The rifling in the blued barrels is bright with the markers name on the rib and caliber at the breech. The back action lock's, hammers, receiver, trigger guard, lever and tang possess bold foliate scroll engravings. Case colors have disappeared except behind the hammers. The pistol grip is horn capped and checkered and holds a sling swivel forward of the butt. The pull is 14 1/4" including the 7/8" spacer and rubber butt pad. The drop is 3". Fine condition.
