Jacob Sees, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania full stock flintlock long rifle, approximately .50 caliber, with tiger maple stock, four-piece engraved brass patchbox, trigger guard, side plate and butt plate, the cheek rest with silver wire serpentine and scroll inlay, with relief carving behind barrel tang, the trigger guard and barrel flanked with incised serpentine lines, the lock is inscribed W. Ketland & Co., the barrel inscribed J. Sees, with a brass blade front sight, 44 3/4" octagonal to round barrel. A rare example of a Lancaster rifle with wire inlay. Front of trigger guard is no longer inset into the wood, hairline crack at trigger guard to side plate and at barrel tang to lock plate, patch to toe.
