Holland & Holland side lever hammerless Rook rifle, .250 cal., barrel inscribed Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond St., London on the right flat and Winners of the Field Rifle Trials-250 Semi Smooth Bore on the left flat, with a two-leaf platinum-lined sight, a receiver and trigger guard retaining 90% case colors, a checkered English walnut pistol grip stock with a steel butt plate and a silver escutcheon on the bottom of the butt stock, serial #18821, 26" octagonal barrel. C&R The blue barrel has some pitting near the muzzle and light rust along the barrel flats. The bore shows good rifling with some frost. The receiver is lightly scroll engraved and retains 90% of case colors. 64023 is stamped on the underside of the receiver. The tang is number 18821. The English walnut pistol grip stock is checkered with a silver escutcheon between the pistol grip and butt plate. Normal handling marks on the stock. Very good condition.
