Finely wrought Norwich, Connecticut silk on linen band sampler, ca. 1780, inscribed "Hannah Punderson" with alphabets, tulips, flower trees, and geometric designs worked in various stitiches in green, blue, black, yellow, tan, and white, 15" x 5 1/2". For similar works, see Sothebys, January 1988, Lots 1538 and 1539, both works not dated as in this example. Provenance: Stephen and Carol Huber.
