Fayetteville Armory type IV rifled musket, .58 caliber, 33" barrel.
1864 marked Fayettville lock is lightly pitted behind bolster. The bolster is fused to the barrel and pitted at attachment. The barrel is marked with a UP over eagle and has a brown patina and a three leaf near sight. The stock shows normal handling marks. The triggerguard, barrel bands, nose cap and butt plate are brass. The tang of the buttplate is marked "CSA".
