Center County, Pennsylvania decorated oval band box, early 19th c., with delicate vine, tulip, and drape decoration with floret decorated border on a red surface, inscribed on the underside of the lid "Jacob Burl 1811", 5" h., 14 1/4" w. For a similar example, see Walter Himmelreich Collection, Pennypacker Auctions, May 1973, lot 83. Provenance: Keible McCutcheon.
Missing 3/8" piece on upper rim of lid. Small split at base rim, 2". Very minor rubs.
