Cased J. Purdey side by side under lever double-barrel Express rifle, .500 cal., black powder proof damascus barrels without ejectors, marked J.P. Purdey & Sons, with a two-leaf platinum-lined rear express sight, scroll engraved back action locks, and a deluxe checkered English walnut pistol grip stock marked with a silver escutcheon bearing Earl of Shannon, serial #14596, 28" barrels. The blue barrels retain crisp rifling and one marked "J. Purdey & Sons, Audley House, South Audley St., London" on the grip in front of the express rear sight. The receiver shows 30% case colors with scroll engraving on all metal. The ornately engraved hammers have safeties. The deluxe English walnut stock has a checkered pistol grip engraved steel cap, raised left cheek rest and checkered butt. There is a sling swivel behind the pistol grip and forward of the "Earl of Shannon" escutcheon. There is a "180" stamp between the two. The pull is 14 1/2" and the drop is 2 1/2". Includes correct case. Fine condition.
