Berks County, Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, ca. 1785, the front with central double arched panel with 2 rearing black unicorns with orange tulips and flowering vines within an elaborate sawtooth border flanked by 2 arched panels with tulip trees on a red ground all resting on straight bracket feet with center drop, retaining original wrought iron strap hinges, grab lock and side carrying handles, 23 1/4" h., 48 1/2" w. Condition

Original lock present, but not attached. Both rear foot facings replaced. One front foot ended out 2 1/2".
