Andrew Wyeth (American 1917-2009), watercolor titled The Lookout or Borestone Mountain, signed lower right, 19" x 24". The building pictured was located in Northern Maine near the village of Manson. Listed in the Andrew Wyeth catalogue raisonne. A copy of a letter written by Betsey Wyeth discussing the painting accompanies the lot. Provenance: purchased by Rosalie Downing from The Christmas Shop in Hotel DuPont, ca. 1950. Then by descent in the family.
